Sabina Holloway
I first got my hands on glass in 2010 at Ox-bow School of Art in Michigan. Since then, I have gained experience in a wide variety of settings --- from a garage hot shop in Vermont, to a recycled glass studio in Ghana, to a glass production line in Seattle.
I have always been fascinated by glass itself. It's a material that can move stretch and bend, and in an instant shatter! Working with glass I find myself totally mesmerized and continuously bewildered by this extraordinary medium. This practice is humbling.
As a message therapist, I am intrigued by anatomical structures and movement. This informs my work in glass. I feel at home outside and believe there is nothing more beautiful than the desert sky. My experiences in the wilds of nature continue to have a profound impact on my color palate.
